What are the best residential areas to live around Seattle for families with young children? My wife and 4yo daughter are considering moving from the bay area of California to Seattle. We are making a trip to Seattle in a few weeks to check it out. But what areas should we check out? We are seeking quiet, safe and quaint neighborhoods/towns with a sense of community. I work in the tech field (user research) so can't be too far from possible employers (tough one I know). Anyway, what towns outside of Seattle and neighborhoods inside of Seattle should we consider. Oh, gotta have good schools.

Thanks!
What's the difference between living in Seattle and living in Los Angeles, CA? I am planning to move to Seattle after many years of living in LA. The reason is because I am getting old and and I don't see my dreams come true (movies, house, affordable living, etc). How can i move from tulsa, oklahome to seattle washington without going broke? My wife and i and our 8 month old son are moving from Collinsville OK to Seattle WA in 2 weeks. We have been planning this move for months but we recently have started geting rustrated with the amount of help we are not getting from UHaul. It also seems that everyone else, is twice as expensive. We want to get there with our stuff (about 1.5 bedrooms worth) and our midsized car. These are the options we have considered: U Pack, PODS, trading our 2 cars for an SUV (Ford Explorer?) and hauling a trailer with our stuff in it. But we don't want a crappy SUV. Something that will be reliable. It will be our only transportation besides the bus and our feet in Seattle.

Mice problem in Seattle area homes crawl spaces? I am planning to buy a nice house in Redmond Ridge (Greater Seattle area). During the inspection, the inspector found mice activity in the crawl space under the house. I am afraid this can get out of control and destroy the ducting and the crawl space insulation and that the mice can potentially enter into the house itself. My realtor says it is a common problem and can be put under control by using regular pest control. Is there anyone who can say it is a common problem in Seattle area? Please answer ASAP. I need to make my decision soon.

Why don't people in Seattle have to separate their recycling before it gets picked up? So a couple years ago Seattle citizens used to have to separate their glass bottles from their other recyclables. In Japan, they separate all of their recycling into different bins such as "glass only", "paper only", and "plastic" before they reach the recycling center. Why don't people in Seattle have to separate their recycling, like Japanese people do, before it reaches the recycling center?

What is the best way to find rental houses in the Seattle area? I have tried some of the basics (craigslist, NW Source, classifieds, other websites with rental listings), but thought I would ask if anyone has advice on other ways to find houses for rent in Seattle: good rental agencies that don't have a strong internet presence, property management companies in the area, or even a tip on a neighbor looking to rent out their extra house. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.
How can I go about in filing a complaint at Polyclinic Seattle? The polyclinics down on Broadway, Seattle is being veyr irresponsible with my grandma's appointment. It kept postponding without informing us about it unless we call in to confirmed. This is very disrespectful in terms of the patient's health and well-being and I really would like the facility to be aware of this regardless of the current weather issue. Do you know the email or who to address this issue to? The address to the clinic is 1145 Broadway, the orthopedic surgery section. Thanks.
